A bit about me
DESIGN by LINDA.B - an interior design and CAD drafting service - was founded in 2017 after retraining and gaining my Diploma in Interior Design and Decoration. With several prestigious design awards under my belt and years of previous experience and studies in the architectural and construction fields what else was there to do but launch my own business? I may be relatively new on the Interior Design scene but DESIGN by LINDA.B has been a long time in the making.
My passion for design, architecture and "making things" is always with me. Over the years I have personally renovated 3 family homes on tight budgets. I am continually attending design and industry events to keep up to date with the latest in design trends. I am passionate about improving things to improve lifestyles and in creating beautiful, comfortable and functional living spaces.
I have studied 1st year architecture and structural engineering at advanced diploma level. I previously worked for 8 years as a 2D CAD drafts person for a surveying, engineering and building design firm. I have practical hands on experience in many of the building trade areas from surveying, concreting, tiling and carpentry. I am now skilled in all facets of 3D CAD...
If you can DREAM it - I can DRAW it - and together we can DO it!
Qualifications
When my son left home I retrained in the latest 3D CAD - because I actually love drafting! - and also studied for my Diploma in Interior Design and Decoration – because over the years I finally realised that this was what I was meant to do.
During my studies I won many awards for my work (see my award portfolio page) but even more importantly gained relationships with design mentors who have years of design experience behind them.
I regularly attend seminars and events to keep up with the latest trends in design and was given the amazing opportunity to speak, on stage, at the October 2018 Sydney Home Show about the importance of good interior design for mental health and well-being including Anxiety, ADHD and other special needs.
DESIGN by LINDA.B is my chance to take my life experience, mix it with my creative design eye and make better spaces for those I work with, regardless of challenging circumstances.
